The Texas Baptist Men Outdoor Fellowship provides an opportunity for Christian men to network together in outdoor pursuits for fellowship and to share the message of Christ with individuals that do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

This is exactly the method that Jesus used in the first century. When the Master was out with fishermen, He took what they knew about fishing and taught them about God, even how to become fishers of men.

Outdoor Opportunities

Each year millions of individuals purchase a hunting or fishing license in the state of Texas, and countless others are involved in many other outdoor pursuits such as hiking, backpacking, canoeing or they visit one of the state parks. On any given weekend, you will find a multitude of people who are seeking adventure in the outdoors as a way to fulfill the desire of their heart.

Christ encouraged us to become the salt and light in this world and to share with those who are in darkness. The outdoor setting provides a unique opportunity to share a witness of God’s greatness and His desire for a personal relationship with each individual. Many lost men will spend hours and even an entire weekend with a Christian friend in a remote setting sharing in a common outdoor adventure.

Churches can use outdoor fellowship clubs to organize hunting and fishing outings, wild-game dinners, sportsman banquets, outdoor conferences, black powder rendezvous and many other outdoor pursuits as a way to reach men.

If you are interested in organizing an outdoor fellowship in your church or association, begin by praying and share your concern for reaching the men in your community with your pastor, Director of Missions and other Christian men in your church or association that have a similar interest, then contact Texas Baptist Men for more information concerning the outdoor fellowship.

We are encouraging men who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and have a desire to network together in outdoor pursuits for fellowship and share the message of Christ with individuals that do not have a personal relationship with Him to begin or join an outdoor fellowship club in your church or association.

Contact Texas Baptist Men to receive information concerning many of the annual outdoor fellowship opportunities that are scheduled around the state and how you can become involved in these ministries.
